The Insurance Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee (ISSDC) is a European level forum in which insurance employer and employee representatives discuss topics of common interest, with the support of the European Commission.
As part of the employers’ delegation, Insurance Europe is an active member of the ISSDC, which it chairs every second year. It also contributes to ISSDC work on issues of key relevance to employment and social aspects in the insurance sector. These have included a joint report and conference on the demographic challenge in the insurance sector, a joint declaration on telework, a joint declaration on the effects of regulatory requirements and compliance on employees, and a joint declaration on digitalisation. More recently, the social partners adopted a joint declaration on the COVID-19 crisis and another declaration on artificial intelligence.
The ISSDC has agreed to work on a wide range of issues, with a focus on diversity, inclusion and non-discrimination in the insurance sector. The ISSDC will also continue to monitor the employment and social impact of the COVID-19 crisis, promote its recent joint declarations and facilitate the sharing of good practice examples from the national, sectoral and company level.
