Europe’s insurers paid claims and benefits of €2.8bn per day in 2020, up from €2.7bn per day in 2019, according to the latest edition of Insurance Europe’s “European Insurance in Figures”, which was published today.
The European insurance industry’s assets under management also increased from €10.4trn in 2019 to €10.6trn in 2020.
Total premiums in Europe amounted to €1 264bn in 2020, a drop of 4% on 2019, and the average amount per capita spent on insurance in Europe was €2 093.
