Gerry Cross was appointed as director of financial regulation policy and risk at the Central Bank of Ireland in May 2015. He leads the Central Bank’s work on prudential and conduct regulation and its supervisory framework.
Gerry is a member of the board of supervisors of the European Banking Authority (EBA) and of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), and alternate member of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) Board of Supervisors. He co-chairs EBA’s Standing Committee on Regulation and Policy and chairs the European Supervisory Authorities’ work on implementing the Digital Operational Resiliance Act (DORA) in Europe. He is the IAIS Champion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Moyagh Murdock is the chief executive officer of Insurance Ireland. Since taking over in April 2020, Moyagh has navigated Insurance Ireland through a crucial phase of its growth. She has implemented a new five-year strategy for the organisation and its members who make up over 90% of the insurers in Ireland. The key pillars of her new strategy are anchored around advocating on behalf of members with policymakers and regulators to promote the value that Insurance Ireland members create for individuals, the economy, and society. Her focus is also to ensure customers understand insurance products and services so that they can make informed choices. As a member of the Steering Group for the Women in Finance Charter, Moyagh is particularly focused on diversity and inclusion through the identification and promotion of good practices in the insurance industry.
Previously she was the CEO of the Road Safety Authority. During her tenure, Ireland saw a 25% reduction in road fatalities and was the second safest Member State in the EU recording the lowest number of deaths since records began in 1959.
Originally from Newry, Co. Down, Moyagh graduated from Queen's University Belfast in eEngineering. She also holds an MBA from Dublin City University.
