In this bite-sized webinar, Isabel Benjumea MEP sits down with Michaela Koller, Director general of Insurance Europe. They will discuss the progress made in delivering the Capital Markets Union (CMU) and what needs to be done to encourage further consumer investment in the European economy. They will discuss the barriers to completing the CMU and what the future holds.

As a member of the Partido Popular, Isabel Benjumea has been an MEP since July 2019. In this IX legislature, she is vice-chair of the Committee on Regional Development, a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, and vice-coordinator of the EPP in the Subcommittee on taxation.
Isabel is responsible for European recovery funds "Next Generation EU" of the Spanish delegation of the EPP, being a member of the Working Group of the European Parliament in charge of monitoring and auditing these funds. She has been also in charge for the EPP of the Regulation establishing the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA).
As part of her work in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, she has been responsible for the European Parliament's report on the Capital Markets Union. In her commitment to improving the competitiveness of European markets and increasing investment options for European citizens, she is responsible for the Directives on Alternative Investment Fund Managers and Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (AIFMD/UCITS).
Isabel Benjumea is co-founder of the Floridablanca Network, a Spanish liberal think tank, from which she has made numerous collaborations and articles in the national and international media. She teaches the entrepreneurship degree at the Francisco Marroquín University in Madrid
Born in Madrid in 1982, Isabel holds a degree in law and international relations from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas de Madrid (ICADE).

Michaela Koller is director general of Insurance Europe, the European insurance and reinsurance federation. She is currently also secretary general of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA).
Michaela has worked in Brussels for the last 30 years. Prior to joining Insurance Europe in February 2007, she held management positions in different banking trade bodies. Michaela has served as a member of various consumer/industry groups and advisory groups established by the European Commission.
