This webinar delved into the insurance industry's contribution to sustainability.
Moderated by Olav Jones, deputy director of Insurance Europe; Gilke Eeckhoudt, chief development and sustainability officer; and Wim Vermeir, chief investment officer, discussed Ageas' ambitions. They shared some of the actions the group is taking, and the challenges they face, to support the climate transition.

Gilke Eeckhoudt was appointed chief development and sustainability officer (CDSO) in 2021, with responsibility for leading all transversal business initiatives for the Ageas Group within business/technology/sustainability development and supporting the groupwide implementation of Impact24.
She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Ageas Federal Life Insurance Co Ltd in India.
Prior to this she held the position of group strategy and corporate affairs director at Ageas.
Wim Vermeir is chief investment officer of AG Insurance since April 2011. Since June 2012, he is also group head of investments for Ageas.
In November 2017, Wim became a member of the Financial Committee of the King Baudouin Foundation of which he is president since April 2020.
Before joining AG(eas), Wim held different positions at Dexia Asset Management, between 1995 and 2006 and was equity manager, head of socially responsible investing, head of global balanced management and head of equity.

Olav Jones has been deputy director general and director, economics and finance at Insurance Europe since 2011.
He is a member of the Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA).
He studied both engineering and finance and started his career with financial services consultancy Oliver Wyman. He then spent 15 years working for Prudential, Fortis and Ageas in roles related to risk, capital management and strategy, most recently as group chief risk officer.
